S1 Ep 7. Gratitude and Self Care for Healthcare Workers: A Meditative Journey
Nite Nite Nurse Podcast Show Notes
Season 1 Episode 7
Welcome to Nite Nite Nurse: Sleep is self care. Thank you for the incredible work you do every day. You are the backbone of the healthcare system and your dedication to helping others is truly remarkable. It’s important to take a moment to pause and reflect on all that you’ve accomplished and all that you do. In this guided meditation, we will focus on gratitude, self care and positive affirmations to help you feel appreciated, valued, and supported. By taking time to meditate, you can recharge your batteries and bring a fresh perspective to your work.
So, let’s begin by finding a comfortable and quiet place where you can sit or lie down. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out. Focus on your breath for a few moments and let go of any thoughts or distractions.
As you continue to breathe at your own pace, think about all the hard work you do as a healthcare worker. You are an essential part of the healthcare system, and you make a difference in so many people’s lives every day. Take a moment to reflect on all that you’ve accomplished and all that you do. It’s easy to get caught up in the challenges and difficulties of the job, but it’s important to also recognize and appreciate the positive impact you have. Think about the patients you have helped, the lives you have touched, and the care you have provided. You have the knowledge and skills to make a positive difference, and you do it every day.
Take another deep breath in and out, and conjure a heartfelt sense of gratitude in your heart for your hard work and dedication. Allow yourself to sink into this feeling of appreciation and let it permeate your mind and body. See if you can make this feeling grow and expand as you experience the joy and satisfaction that comes with it. Allow yourself to open up to this feeling, to cultivate and encourage gratitude as a guiding force in your work and in your life.
Good… As you continue to breathe deeply, focus on self-care. Think about what you can do to care for yourself, both physically and emotionally. It’s okay to prioritize your own needs and take time for yourself. Remember that by taking care of yourself, you are better equipped to care for others. When you are refreshed and recharged, you can bring your best self to your work and make an even greater positive impact.
Take another deep breath in and out and hold onto this feeling of gratitude and self-care. Remember that your work and dedication are valued and appreciated, and that it’s important to take care of yourself too. Take another deep breath in and out, and listen to the following affirmations. They represent the voice of your best self. Allow yourself to resonate with each and every word.
